Description

Sturm Panzer - SY-003 Schneider

Using the Stealth Ogre as a base, the straight-bodied, bimetal Schneider has unthinkable spin times.

"The 21st century's new form of combat: Yo-Yo Fist. Since the Stealth Ogre incident in 2013, team Sturm Panzer was disqualified from the league, and won't be present at the competition in 2014. But the dissolved team has turned their sights on a comeback in 2015.

Young Ace, Kyoshiro Aoi was recruited by Marshall Industries and given their Leo Sniper prototype. His teammate, Reita Sugo, was given the Schneider (whose development had been frozen).

Kyoshiro didn't take the Schneider very seriously. To teach him a lesson, Reita with his Schneider and Gouki with his Eclipse Ogre began to intensely work on their special move.

Due to the coming exams, Reita is sitting out the next match. He puts his schoolwork before his yo-yoing, which Kyoshiro feels is a thread of sorts. Additionally, he has been putting distance between himself, Kasumi and Gouki.

In the meantime, the Leo Sniper's battlefield options, known as Tactical Eye and Homing Booster, have been completed. Along with the Counter Grenade and the Sturm Clover, the next battlefield will be explosive for sure!"

-From the maker

This yo-yo is based on the YoYoLaboratory's Elan Prototype. based on the Stealth Ogre, but the materials used have given this yo-yo a completely new personality.

An obvious addition to the design is the large brass rim weight, covering a large part of the body. At 40 grams, the brass rim accounts for about 60% of the yo-yo's weight. The Schneider has the same titanium axle as the Stealth Ogre, but not to be outdone by its predecessor, the Schneider's design gives it even more stupendous speed and spin times.

The straight shape reflects the yo-yo's name: Schneider (which can translate to a cutting machine). The yo-yo's profile is stark and sharp. The shape may appear simple, but it features a contour that is unusual for modern full metal yo-yos.

As a result, theoretically, the Stealth Ogre should boast more speed than the Schneider, but since the Schneider's gentle contours keep the string away from the body, it is able to keep up with its predecessor. Not to mention the benefits you get from the bimetal construction. Like the Stealth Ogre, the Schneider uses an IrPad response system, and comes loaded with CP-01 IrPad 0.5mm pads. For its performance and playability, the Schneider shows us what the Sturm Panzer lineup is capable of.

The Schneider comes with a polishing cloth, which you can use to give the brass ring a golden shine. Remember NOT to polish the anodized portion of the yo-yo, or the coating will wear off. Also, be careful when opening and closing the yo-yo, as the axle may pierce the side.

Comes with Sturm Panzer Story Book (3rd edition, A5 size, 26 pages), two extra IrPad CP-01 0.5mm response pads, polishing cloth for the brass rim, and an emblem sticker.

*Regarding wobbles, bimetal yo-yos are more susceptible to wobbles, due to the manufacturing process. Since the Schneider was constructed using similar methods to the Stealth Ogre, it does tend to suffer a bit from wobbles. However, because of its wider body the Schneider's weight distribution has limited the amount of wobbling that occurs. All yo-yos are tested before shipping, and if the wobbles are within a certain parameter that does not effect playability, the yo-yo is considered to be good. Any yo-yo that fails this test is considered "B-Grade," and sold as an outlet item. Let it be noted that the side caps are applied after this test, which could indicate that the caps themselves could be causing some of the wobbles. If you are feeling particular, you can reset the side caps to try to alleviate this yourself.

*The Schneider comes with a non-brand bearing, so we would recommend getting a Dif-e-Yo KonKave Bearing to maximize performance. The owner assumes all responsibility for any maintenance and modification on your yo-yo.
