Description
Sturm Panzer - SY-001 Stealth Ogre
With "wicked" as a core theme, the Stealth Ogre is the first release from Sturm Panzer.
in 2013, the 21st century's new champion yo-yo league "Yo-Yo Fist" entered its 6th season, and team Sturm Panzer was ready with the Stealth Ogre, a new yo-yo designed by Kasumi Hino, of defense contracter Marshall Industry.
At its core of the design, Kasumi integrated the control system dubbed "bio spinner," which is meant to create a direct connection between your brain and the yo-yo, giving you superhuman control during play! Once the Stealth Ogre hit the scene, Kasumi's team turned its luck around, and the Stealth Ogre was the engine that fueled its comeback.
From Sturm Panzer comes a radical new design that sets it apart from other makers. Looking to make use their yo-yos to weave a narrative through the yo-yo world, Sturm Panzer has released the Stealth Ogre as their flagship model. This is the beginning of the story of a maker with a strong sense of identity, and some really wicked throws to its name.
The Stealth Ogre's unique shape is made from a thin section of 7075 aluminum with a thick brass rim weight, for a wing-heavy bi-metal feeling. That weight is the source of its speed and power, that is to say, the weight actually feels like it accelerates the yo-yo during play, giving you smooth control over its accelerating spin. Of course, this design also keeps the Stealth Ogre spinning straight and true, with outrageous stability.
Moreover, the axle is a light but strong, made from titanium, and the response pads are from the much-loved IrPad. This was all clearly designed not only to express the maker's individuality and stand-out abilities, but also to snatch the hearts of competitive yo-yo players, and never let them go.
Since the Stealth Ogre's release, its capabilities have slowly come to light, making it a very strong entry for Sturm Panzer into the world of yo-yo makers. As such, it also comes with the "Sturm Panzer Storybook 1," commemorating the birth of a nation.
This yo-yo's feeling and performance are greatly influenced by the bearings used. It comes loaded with a non-brand, concave 10-ball bearing. To alter the sense of play, switch out the bearing for a high-performance name-brand bearing, like a "forged" ball bearing or the Dif-e-Yo KonKave bearing.
*be sure to shine the brass section at regular intervals with the included polishing cloth. Be sure not to use the polishing cloth on the aluminum (purple) part of the yo-yo, or you will rub off the anodizing.
Comes with Sturm Panzer Storybook 1 (A5 size, 28 pages), an extra pair of IrPad response pads, polishing cloth, and an emblem sticker.
