Japan Technology (JT) is a yo-yo manufacturer based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, owned by Atsushi Yamada, one of Japan's leading off-string players. In 2009, they released the revolutionary off-string yo-yo "Kamui," which became a hot topic as a model that overturned the concept of off-string yo-yos up until that point. With the track record of players who were active in famous contests using Kamui, it established an absolute position as the ultimate off-string yo-yo. Since then, they have produced many models, and JT's name as a manufacturer specializing in off-string yo-yos has become widely known both domestically and internationally. With a constant attitude of constantly challenging itself, they have expanded the scope of their development to fields other than off-string yo-yos, and in 2014 they released their first full metal yo-yo, "Fireel." It presented new possibilities for JT and garnered support from players. Since then, they have consistently released a wide range of models from JT's unique perspective, including models for beginners and models made from a variety of materials.
