With a stainless outer rim, the new TOP alpha is a tri-material yo-yo!
Using three different ingredients in its construction, The TOP alpha is a tri-material yo-yo that's been two years in the making. Using aluminum, stainless steel and POM plastic in the construction. One of the interesting design decisions that sets The TOP alpha apart from its predecessor is their decision to use stainless steel for the outer rim rather than the interior parts. This results in more, stronger spin. The POM inner parts lightens the interior, accentuating this effect and also providing a smooth, low-friction response area. This gives the yo-yo a very smooth playfeel.
While the shape of the original TOP persists in the alpha, they are two very different beasts. The TOP alpha readily inherits the place of being Top Yo's new flagship models.
