Description
YoYoJam - SR-71
The successor to the Sirius name, the SR-71 features a heavy aluminum ring as Nathan Crissey's signature model.
The aluminum ring on the SR-71 almost takes over the entire body. The original Sirius was Crissey's original signature series, an almost full metal body. The SR-71 is Crissey's new signature model, both modern and unconventional with its unique body shape.
The body size is almost unchanged from the Sirius, a standard diameter for string play, but the proportions have certainly changed, with the SR-71's thick aluminum outer rim. Aluminum is lighter than bronze nickel, but to keep the spin up the SR-71 has an extra thick rim for extra long sleeps. Its design gives great performance with the light plastic body and aluminum wings, giving a soft feeling you can't get from a full metal model.
The SR-71 uses YoYoJam's Solid Spin Axle system, and is loaded with a thin bearing for a tug response. You can retrofit it with the included YYJ Speed Bearing to switch to a bind response. This makes a great yo-yo for players looking to practice their binding technique, or step up from plastic yo-yos.
SR-71 was the model name of America's supersonic high-altitude spy plane, codenamed "Blackbird." The side cap design is modeled after the plane's markings. Comes with the thin bearing installed, and the speed bearing is in the package separately.
