All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
REWIND × 02 DESIGN LABORATORY - Saudade A new "shape" of pocket-sized yo-yo proposed by Haruto Noguchi, staff member of REWIND Shibuya store.
"02 DESIGN LABORATORY" is a new designer brand created by Aufheben owner Kazuki Morii. "Saudade" was born as the first design of this brand through a collaboration with his longtime friend Haruto Noguchi.
Despite its small size, it has a substantial weight, and by placing the center of gravity inward, it achieves excellent operability and smooth movement. The unique H-profile and double rim structure are distinctive features, but the most notable characteristic lies in "a certain mechanism" that utilizes this shape.
This mechanism allows you to reassemble the yo-yo and stack it in the same direction, transforming it into a compact storage form. It doesn't take up much space in your pocket or sacoche bag, making it easy to carry anywhere.
At Noguchi's request, the surface has been given a vintage-style finish, with small scratches and dents visible. Also, some wobble may occur within a range that does not affect usage due to the structure. These are specifications resulting from prioritizing the reassembly function. The wobble itself can be adjusted to some extent, but please refrain from excessive tightening.
Comment from Haruto Noguchi
"Saudade" is based on the theme of "a yo-yo that suits outdoor play" because I personally love going out somewhere and playing with yo-yos.
To achieve the structure of making it compact when stacked together, I considered various patterns around the axle. The final mechanism allows the hub to be attached to either side of the body, and this mechanism was inspired by the Otanklair from YoYo Studio Llama, which is one of my favorite yo-yos.
I believe yo-yos meant for outdoor play offer enjoyment that can only be experienced outdoors. I would be delighted if you take this Saudade with you and play with it in various places!
