All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
This special edition Rextreme 2.0 commemorates Rei Iwakura's victory at the 2014 World Yo-Yo Contest.
*This current batch of Rextreme 2.0s comes with Rei's signature and a K-String XL yellow string, cut to the exact length that Rei uses.
"The Rextreme is a combination of all of YoYoJam's expertise on off string yo-yo design. The midship weight, the bounce for easy recovery, the Big Yo's stability, and configurable gap width are incorporated to give you an off string yo-yo that is effective for just about any type of play.
Off string yo-yo design is developing at a terrific rate, and peoples' preferences are branching off to form minute adjustments for different styles of play. The Rextreme is designed to appeal to everyone, and give them the ability to play how they want. So find the settings that best suit you!" -Rei Iwakura
Years of development and prototyping have finally given us the perfected Rextreme 2.0. The brainchild and signature model of 2008 4A world champion Rei Iwakura, its perfected specs are the result of his diligence and refusal to compromise in any aspect of its design. It brings something for everyone, and is assured to set a whole new standard for off string yo-yos for years to come.
When you pick it up, you can feel the heritage of the Rextreme, which was based on the design of the Big Yo that used to be Rei's main throw. The detailed specs and catch zone are almost identical to the Big Yo, but the diameter has been shaved down, improving speed and stability. The other advantage to this change is the Rextreme fits better in the hand. The Big Yo's colors remain true, but with the addition of the SolidSpin system and midship weights, Rextreme incorporates all the advanced features that YoYoJam has developed since the Big Yo was first introduced years ago.
In past years, Rei used the Big Yo exclusively for competitions. Although its catch zone gave it big potential, the Big Yo took some getting used to in order to maintain control and a straight spin. The Big Yo also suffered from poor spin, limiting your ability to enjoy long combo tricks. For these reasons, not many pro players stuck with the Big Yo. Rei was able to cover these shortcomings with technique and experience, and he never failed to impress with his performances, but not everyone can play like Rei! Now, with the Rextreme, that's all about to change!
The Rextreme can easily handle practically any kind of difficult tricks you can imagine, from boingy boingy and regens to complex rail tricks. The Rextreme will obviously become a familiar yo-yo on the contest stage, but we'd like to see newbies and players who gave up on off string play because it was too hard give it another go. Even the challenging recapture tricks are remarkably easy with the Rextreme. From now on, any casual or serious 4A player should have at least one Rextreme in their collection.
This new Rextreme has a slightly different body materials, increasing the body weight for greater spin. Also, you can remove the side caps with suction pads and install lateral caps for top-on style tricks.
