Aside from its metal rim weight, the Rally is onedrop's first plastic yo-yo!
You can safely assume that onedrop's first plastic yo-yo is going to rock pretty hard, and now you don't need to guess any more. With three years of development, the Rally is a real masterpiece that lives up to the expectations of both the maker and onedrop fans.
It started off using the Code 2 as the base, but the final product is a far cry from its foundation. With the expanded diameter, you can feel the difference just by picking up the yo-yo. The thick aluminum weight not only assures you this yo-yo has some weight to throw around, it gives the Rally a vigorous spin!
The surface of the Rally has a blast-like texture to it. This was achieved by taking the injection-molded body and reprocessing the surface. The resulting surface makes the Rally grind like a dream, and also makes it smooth and easy to catch at any speed. Many small design considerations add up to show onedrop's legendary dedication and attention to detail.
The specialized production methods lead to a yo-yo you have to pick up and feel for yourself. The sensation and even sound of your fingers running over the surface is reminiscent of earthenware ceramics.
The Rally comes as a bind-response yo-yo, and since it performs like a full metal yo-yo (cleverly cloaked in plastic), it makes a great first bind-response throw for the progressing player. It's also nice to note that there's less chance of injury with a plastic yo-yo.
