Description
Oxygene - OXY3
This version is OXY 3vo, not original OXY 3.
Italian maker Oxygene's third release from their OXY series, the high end OXY3.
The high end yo-yo responsible for its amazing impact on the scene all the way back in 2002 when it was first released, the OXY3 is rare and beautiful like a Gutenberg bible.
The first surprising feature of this yo-yo is that it's actually an adjustable-gap type. Its response can be regulated by tightening the sides, similar to YoYoJam's Kickside and Lyn Fury. Great for practicing different styles of play like regeneration tricks or bind techniques with just a simple adjustment. It's rare to see this functionality in a full metal yo-yo, so kudos to Oxygene for changing the game.
Secondly, its use of a titanium axle lightens the center of the yo-yo, sending the center of gravity out to the sides. This makes a considerable impact on its spinning power. Third is its size; in a time when yo-yos were generally much smaller, the OXY3 towered over its competitors, and nowadays, its size is much more the rule than the exception.
Oxygene has had a major impact on yo-yos made around the world. American maker Dif-e-Yo has taken a page out of Oxygene's book, using the special properties of the materials they use to create a better full-metal yo-yo. This design may be old, but it is far from stale. The OXY3 is a high quality yo-yo even by today's standards. Have a taste of yo-yo history.
