All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
A full metal measure that rocks a beautiful rounded shape, Overture hits the right key!
The Overture is a signature collaboration model between Onedrop and 2010 US Champion Sebastian Brock. The shape seems to be based on the Markmont Classic, with a body just slightly larger than full sized. The outer rim looks thin but carries a lot of the weight, giving the Overture a playfeel that will surprise you if you judge it on first sight. It fits softly into the hand, and has a really lovely playfeel to match. The beautiful round shape is not marred by any bumps or irregularities, just a smooth, classic profile that brings back the goodness of traditional round butterfly shapes. Using the classic side effect axle allowed Onedrop to lower the price and bring this modern piece of nostalgia into reach (Note: Overture is not compatible with side effects)
Official Description:
An Overture is an introduction and a start to something great. We are deeply honored to begin working with U.S. National Champion Sebastian Brock to bring his dream yo-yo into the world: The Overture. Sebby is a legend and has been at the top of the yo-yo competitive scene for more than a decade. He is also an innovative yo-yo artist with a unique style. He brings years of experience and perspective so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to build his yo-yo.We are also excited to have Max Naff in the collaboration to bring us the artwork. The approach to the collaboration was to build the yo-yo that Sebby has had in his mind and heart for a long time: a refinement of the classic organic yo-yo. Sebby’s yo-yoing is noted for plane-pushing and having many layers to the tricks, and as a result he was looking for big (58mm), stable, bead blasted yo-yo with a balanced distribution of weight that is tuned for his style. It feels good to return to a large retro hub that allows for a little extra center weight, a beefy and reliable 16mm axle and lots of style.
Besides being a top competitor, Sebby is well known for creating the The Alternative Freestyle Invitational which generally takes place at the World Yo-Yo Contest. He had the idea to showcase the art of yo-yoing without the pressure of the point system. He did this for the love of yo-yoing and inspiring players are all kinds to showcase their talents and style and hopefully inspire future players.
Sebby hopes the Overture will inspire your play and he says that it “slays with a soulâ€.
