All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
Another version of the Protostar, showing new possibilities for plastic yo-yos.
This model is a reissue of the same design as the model used by the world champions of the time. Therefore, the specifications may differ from those of the current model or the model of the same name at that time. Also, there may be damage to the packaging.
This yo-yo was originally created as a signature model for Jensen Kimmitt, the 2010 World Yo-Yo Contest Champion in the 1A division. While more than 90% of the participants used full metal yo-yos, it was a plastic yo-yo based on the Protostar that beat out the competition. Although it is a plastic model, it offers the same level of performance as full metal yo-yos. It is not a yo-yo that only advanced players can handle, but it is a yo-yo that allows you to practice your tricks in a relaxed manner.
Like the prototype Protostar, it is also recommended for those who want to learn to bind. It is sometimes difficult to do tricks with a plastic model that can be done with a full metal model, but when you use a high performance plastic model like the Northstar, you will see that a full metal model is not necessarily better.
