The new North Star is outfitted with a fingerspin cap and a metal weight, to keep you throwing for days!
This is the renewal version of the original North Star, that busted onto the scene in 2000 alongside the popular Protostar. The shape has been mostly left as is, with the addition of a special side cap that is designed to make top-on (fingerspin) style tricks easier, so players can pick it up and play the popular modern playstyles.
at 2~3 grams lighter than the original, the new North Star has a nice light playfeel, with a bind response setting out of the box. If you are looking to master your binds or just practice the latest string tricks, this is the yo-yo to get!

Official Description
In 2010, YoYoFactory set the goal of producing a modern performance plastic/metal hybrid yoyo that out performed the most capable metal yoyos at a fraction of the price. The result of those efforts was the Northstar yoyo, which went on to win the 2010 World YoYo Contest. This week, we are re-introducing the Northstar in an entirely new light. The new Northstar Finger spin comes equipped with carefully designed finger spin side caps that are amazing for modern horizontal finger spin tricks. Precision aluminum weight rings give the Northstar an advantage on other plastic yoyos with greater stability and spin time.
