Japan Technology - Mirage SB
Mirage's bearings have been downsized.
The bearings of Japan Technology's flagship model, Mirage, have been downsized from size C to size D.
Not only have the bearings been made smaller, but they have also been optimized to accommodate the change in bearing size.
It feels very thick in the hand, and the increased weight has increased the rotational force. There is almost no discomfort when throwing, and the transition from size C seems to be quite natural.
<Manufacturer's comment>
What would happen if we converted MIRAGE into a small bearing?
This project began out of that curiosity.
The "SB" in the name stands for Small Bearing.
MIRAGE is designed to be compatible with C-size bearings, and the optimum values are set in areas that directly affect the feel of the bike, so changing the bearing diameter will significantly disrupt the balance.
In accordance with the specification change to D size bearings, the following designs have been revised.
- The outer periphery is thickened to increase rotational force and weight.
-Lightweight center of face.
-Adjusted the shape of the outermost diameter.
In order to create a MIRAGE that can fully utilize the D-size bearings, we derived new optimum values and reflected them in the design.
We propose MIRAGE, which is both new and nostalgic, and has a mysterious charm that is felt differently by different generations.
*A bearing remover for D-size bearings is required for maintenance (degreasing the bearings, etc.).
*At JAPAN TECHNOLOGY, we inspect all products according to standards that are tailored to the characteristics of each product.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are overly concerned about blurring, uneven coloring, small scratches, etc.
