All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.

Examples of possible initial defects

  • if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
  • (Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
  • Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
  • Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
  • Examples that do not constitute initial defects
  • Package damage
  • Color differences from expectations
  • Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
  • Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
  • Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
  • Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
  • Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
  • Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
  • Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)

C3yoyodesign - Initiator (Old)

Initiator is a contest-class looping yo-yo ready for anyone to pick up and play.

C3 collaborated with 2008, 2013 and 2014 2A world champion, Takuma Yamamoto, and Hong Kong's 2A champion Chan Chun Hey aided in the testing and development process to make a yo-yo capable of supporting players of all levels with minimal fuss. The included metal and plastic spacers allow you to adjust the gap width for a variety of play styles. The metal spacers set the gap for beginner tricks, and the plastic spacers are for especially for looping tricks. From the basics to advanced double hand looping, Initiator stays with you as you step up to the world stage.

The Initiator comes with the metal spacer installed, so it is set for beginners by default. The yo-yo's shape fits comfortably in the hand and feels excellent during looping play. The included string is on the slim side, allowing players to practice simple tricks like trapeze and brain twister.

When you swap the metal spacer for the included plastic one, the Initiator's true power shines through. C3 has cultivated some impressive know-how over the years, and the result is a truly world-class looping yo-yo. Especially the gap width, height of the starburst response system, and size of the spacers show how exacting C3 has been with its design specs, and the result shows in how the Initiator plays. Quick, smooth response belies the incredibly long sleep times, making it especially well suited for looping and wraps. C3 created the perfect looping yo-yo for pros and new challengers alike.

For looping, we recommend using K-String's Fat string (or similar) for best results.

*Although this yo-yo uses starburst response, we recommend using 100% polyester string with this yo-yo (an exception to our general rule)
