All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
A wide and refined machined polycarbonate body gets tipped with stainless steel rims.
The love child of iYoYo's flagship model "iYoYo Steel" gets refined into the new alternate design, the iCEBERG. The body is machined polycarbonate and the rim weight is made of heavy steel, just as the Steel had been, but the body is much wider for a completely different flavor and weight balance.
The standard fingerspin spot remains untouched, but the body is overall a whole 3.5mm wider than its sibling, bringing the overall width to 46mm. This turns it into an oversized-feeling wide bind response throw, perfect for hop combos and dynamic horizontal play. Super easy to mount means you can nail those hard-to-hit tricks, and practice your speed combos.
Despite the size-up, iCEBERG has the same weight as its brother model, which makes it feel overall a little lighter, boosting your confidence in doing those quick moves. And it just FEELS fast, you're still in complete control.
Get a taste of why wide yo-yos have become so popular, and where that design can take us.
This yoyo spins very smoothly and plays like a beast! It plays a little bit on the slow side in my opinion but definitely not slow enough to hinder speed combos. The hub of the yoyo is perfect for finger spin only if you manage to land your finger in the center of the yoyo, therefore I wouldn't recommend getting this yoyo if you are new and trying to learn how to finger spin. Downside of this yoyo is that palm grinding is nigh impossible as the stainless steel rims of this yoyo are very grippy. Besides that, I absolutely recommend getting this yoyo!
