All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
Anyone can achieve impressive sleeps with this groundbreaking yo-yo.
One of the real draws of yo-yo is the sense of accomplishment one gets from performing a new trick. It takes a whole lot of work to get there, and although it's a sweet victory when you finally nail it, there's a whole lot of unnecessary frustration along the way. This yo-yo is designed to give anyone the ability to "feel" the yo-yo sleeping.
On the yo-yo's sides, where normally there'd be a logo of some kind, YoYoFactory has implemented a new device called a "hubstack," a part with a separate bearing. By holding the yo-yo by the hubstacks and pulling the string, you can make the yo-yo spin as you hold it, without ever having to throw it! The Hubstack is also designed to be slightly more responsive, making it not only easier to start, but also to return to your hand. Just a little tug and the Hubstack returns to you.
Also, by switching out the low-profile size C- bearing that comes installed on the yo-yo for a larger size C, and switching the pads out for slim pads, you can turn your Hubstack into a bind-response yo-yo. This make the Hubstack a great model for beginners and intermediate players alike.
With the yo-yo, throwing it straight and true is an important skill that takes a lot of practice to achieve. What's even more important than all the frustration it takes to develop this skill is to have fun, and that's what the Hubstack accomplishes.
*The Hubstack comes loaded with thick pads that stick out from the response area slightly. If this makes the yo-yo too responsive, you'll probably want to switch to regular thickness CBC pads.
*You can modify this yo-yo using the Hubstack Standard G5 Kit. This yo-yo is also technically compatible with the Rice Stacks but the fit is really tight and due to slight variations in production the stack may rub against the body. If you remove the cap on the Z-Stacks those will work as well.
