All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
Even the cap is metal! The Freehand Next Gen has gone full metal.
The legendary Duncan Freehand realized in full aluminum. It's actually a metallic version of the Freehand Nextgen. Not only is the body aluminum, but so is the side cap preserved in 6061 alloy. It's full sized at 40mm wide, bringing back the narrower old school designs with a lot of control and nostalgia. This slim feels like the old Nextgen, but with a major power-up, perhaps the most powerful of the whole series.
If you like the Freehand, you'll love the AL. Each one comes with a rapid ball for practicing your counterweight tricks too.
*Please note, it's recommended not to try to remove the side caps.
Official description
A year in the making and too many revisions to count; we funneled it all down to one beautiful, powerful, and iconic design. Our newest yo-yo, the Freehand AL!
We updated the Freehand design many times over the years. So what is different this time? We added an aluminum cap, improved the shape and weight distribution. The result? It's a massive upgrade! We initially thought that aesthetics is the critical factor here, but it turns out that the spin-time is equally essential. We flattened the area near the padded seat to hold intricate long combos, as well as designing the body to be a semi-organic shape to accommodate changing directional tricks to any style of play. Using an aluminum cap really separated the Freehand AL from any of the current yo-yos in the market right now.
A bang for your buck and a must yo-yo to add on your collection. Freehand AL comes with a licensed Dif-E-Yo KonKave Bearing and Rapid Ball counterweight (color may vary).
