Description
Duncan - Freehand Al
Finally, after many long years, we have an aluminum FH Zero!
The Freehand Al (A-L) is the Duncan classic (now known as the FH Zero) made in beautiful anodized aluminum. The original Freehand pretty much took over the yo-yo world when it came out; just about every player out there either had one or lusted for it. The calls to make a full metal version were numerous and loud, and although over 10 years have passed, the call has been heeded. Until now, we’ve had the Metal Zero and Metal Drifter, both coming close to the Freehand profile, but this yo-yo, the Freehand Al, is the first true aluminum Freehand/FH Zero. Unexpectedly, a magnesium version of the FH Zero, the Freehand Mg was released before as well. Using the periodic element symbol for the body material in the name. This aluminum version’s naming is an homage to the Freehand Mg.
Compared to the original FH Zero, the Freehand Al’s gap is slightly on the wide side, to accommodate the ever-popular size C bearing. Another plus for the Freehand Al is the fact that it’s made in Japan, so you can rest assured it’s made to the highest standards.
If you are used to throwing the new Barracuda, which is super popular in the contest circuit these days, you might feel that the Freehand Al is slightly lacking in comparison. But if you’ve been waiting long for the aluminum Freehand, you certainly won’t be disappointed in its potential.
The Freehand Al comes outfitted with standard FH Zero sized side caps, so you can easily swap them out for different designs. Customize to your heart’s content! Comes with a FH Zero counterweight.
*Without the side caps, the body weighs 64g
*The blue version has a bit of colored flecks around the rim.
