ll yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's inspection. Different manufacturers have different standards for product quality. Basically, products that can be used normally are within the product specifications.

Examples of possible initial defects : If you notice any of the following symptoms immediately after opening the product, it may be due to an initial defect.

(Bind model only) The bearing barely turns even when flicked with a finger.
Even after calming the vibrations with a rotating middle finger, the yo-yo still vibrates so much that it appears to change shape.
Parts that should have been installed (bearings/pads) are not installed

Bearing noises after playing a few times
A yo-yo that was delivered in a properly assembled state, but after being disassembled, could no longer be assembled
Scratches and paint chips inside the bearing area

YoYoFactory - Edge Ultimatum

Huge but super lightweight?! The Edge Ultimatum pushes the limits of yo-yo design while still having fun.

This is the new signature model for 2018 1A world champion, Evan Nagao. This is one of many derivative models made from the original Edge, an oversized monometal variate. The width is over 50mm, and the diameter is well oversized at 58mm. From first look to first throw, the Edge Ultimatum continues to make an impression.

In truth, this yo-yo is actually based on a bimetal prototype that Evan used in 2019 to snag 2nd at Worlds. They took that design and challenged themselves to squeeze the same kind of performance out of a monometal yo-yo, to lower the price. The result is this Ultimatum, which manages to be both the largest AND lightest Edge yet, weighing in at 63 grams. The clever design and execution gives a find weight balance and an astounding amount of sleep, despite being lighter than much smaller yo-yos. Rather than being powered by its mass, the Edge Ultimatum gets its spin from the size and shape of the yo-yo. The result is a snappy, speedy throw that follows your commands and doesn't wear you out.

Evan Nagao designs his own yo-yos. He follows a design philosphy which is reflected in his tricks. He influences the way yo-yos are played with both of these elements. The future of yo-yo play is heavily influenced by players like this and the designs they create, inspire or influence.

Ultimatum was a side project. While perfecting the yo-yo he used to take 2nd place in the World Yo-Yo Contest Evan was inspired to create a bigger, not monsterous but wide yo-yo which would suit the needs of players looking to push the limits of yo-yo play or who could benefit with a bit of size and stability without the burdeons of heaving weight.

唯一無二

エッジアルティメイタムを使用していく中で感じたことを、長所短所包み隠さず感じたままを書き記すことにします。愛機なので嘘偽りなく書かせていただきました。参考になれば幸いです。◇長所・「大きいのに軽い」という特異性見た目に反して軽いため、最初の一振りで予想を覆してきます。(実際試し振りした方は皆驚いていました)似たようなフィーリングのヨーヨーはなかなかないと思います。普段重たいヨーヨーを常用している人も、味見や気分転換がてらに使ってみても面白いと思います。・軽さゆえの動かしやすさすいすい軽快に動きます。そしてそのおかげで疲れにくいので長時間の練習にも向いています。・幅広乗ってくれます。・握りやすい形状とサイズ自分が愛用している最大の理由です。収まりが良いので思った通りのスローが安定して行えます。当然キャッチもしやすいです。◇短所、注意点・軽いモノメタルなので重量感がなく、ストリングの張りを意識する必要がある⇒張る意識が身についていない初心者が振るとコントロールしにくいと感じるかもしれません。逆にそれを理解した上で使用すれば、ストリングを張る意識づけによいのではないでしょうか。・幅広に対する慣れ慣れてこればかり振っていると、ど真ん中の形状と言われているクラウンですら小さく感じるようになってしまいます。特に初心者は並行して他の機種も使うなどしたほうが良いと思います。「慣れすぎないこと」でエッジアルティメイタムの恩恵をより強く感じられるのではないでしょうか。◇その他以前のロットではごく稀(数ヶ月に一回あるかないか)に本体とベアリングの隙間にストリングが挟まる現象が発生しておりました。ですが最新ロットではセパレータ周りが修正されており、今のところそのような現象は確認されておりません。デフォルトのセントラだとバインドがかかりにくかったのですが、曲面にするとちょうどよかったです。また10ボールのベアリングにワンドロップのv4mを挿して使用すると、ふわふわととても軽くて柔らかいフィーリングになりました。ストレスなく楽に振れるのでカジュアルに使う分にはとてもおすすめのセッティングです。◇個人的な感想似たようなヨーヨーはあまりないと思います。手持ちのヨーヨーに幅を持たせるという意味でもぜひ手に取って味わっていただきたい機種です。

驚くべき軽さ故の軽快さ

購入して１ヶ月程経ち、私が使い続けてきた感想や振り心地を述べたいと思います。（筆者はヨーヨーの技術はさほど高く無いということを念頭に置いて頂けるとありがたいです。）まず私はオーバーサイズのヨーヨーを買ったこともましてや手に触れたこともありませんでした。なので大きすぎて使いにくいのかなと勝手に想像していましたが、いざ手に取り振ってみて、なんてこんな軽くてサクサク動かしやすくてしっかり回るヨーヨーなんだ！と感じ、使いずらいというイメージは払拭されました。レール系の練習や縦技までこんな大きさでも動かせられることにも驚きましたが、特にブレイン・ツイスター・コンボの爽快感は中々味わえないと思います。ですが、初めてのモノメタルヨーヨーを選ぶ際や芯の通った力強いフィーリングを好む方にはオススメはしませんが、自分の好きなフィーリングが決まってない方やとりあえず他に何かヨーヨーを探してる方なには是非ともこの楽しさを味わって欲しいです！拙い文章でしたがお読みいただきありがとうございました。

エッジシリーズ驚愕の性能！

この商品は商品詳細にも記載されている通りエッジというこのエッジアルティメイタムの元となる設計のバイメタル機種の派生形です。これを元に僕はレビューをさせて頂きます。このエッジアルティメイタムという機種は商品ページご覧の通り、エッジというバイメタルの間反対の立場になるモノメタルという金属設計の分類になります。個人的な見解になりますが、元の設計のエッジは本体がアルミ合金で簡単にその外周部にステンレスという比重の差が大きい金属が搭載されており、エッジアルティメイタムのようなモノメタルという分類の金属設計よりもはるかに回転力・技を繰り出す際の左右の安定性が格段に倍で現代の競技の世界では欠かせない金属設計となっていました。そして今回のエッジアルティメイタムはモノメタルという金属設計です。僕はその前までエッジをメインで使用していたのでエッジアルティメイタムを初めて振る前までは回転力・安定性を少しながらも不安に思っていました。ところがいざガチで振ってみると、これはなんとなんと！「なんだ！このエッジではないステンレスが付いていないのに、このエッジを振っているかのような操作感・回転力・安定性・そして心の安心感は！！」と心がざわめき、色々と思ってみると、「エッジよりもはるかに値段が安い、そしてエッジを振っているかのように操作感がほぼ変わらずステンレスが付いていないモノメタルでバイメタルのようなこの操作感！今まで頼ってたステンレスは何だったんだ！」と思わせてくれた素晴らしいすぎる新しい感動を与えてくれる機種です！あとこの他にもエッジの場合だとバイメタルのため、正直気軽では振れません、そしてある程度の気持ちの意識を持って振らなければ上手く操作が出来ないのですが、このエッジアルティメイタムだとモノメタルともあり気軽に振れて、しかも少しの気持ちの意識入れ替えでガンガンガツっりとガチで振れる、しかも操作している時も本体自らエッジに比べ、少しの力を入れるだけ思い通りにスイスイと動いてくれます！！ホントこの機種ヤバいです！特に今までエッジを愛用してきた方たちにはマジでおすすめです！新しくエッジの感動がエッジアルティメイタムにはあります！初めてエッジシリーズを触る方にも、元のエッジシリーズを知り尽くしている方にもきっと喜んで頂ける機種です！買って損は無し！！是非ともこの機会にどうぞお買い求め下さい！
