Overweight and full sized! Jason Liu's new signature model weighs in at a hefty 76 grams!

Collapsar is 2012 and 2016 Chinese 1A champion, Zichen Jason Liu's signature model. Matched to his playstyle, Collapsar packs a wallop, with a lot of power in that punch.

Jason loves his speedy play, but he opted for a design that focused more on power and stability, to give him time to perform extreme combos and difficult tricks that are risky without a lot of centripetal force. A spun-up yo-yo should hold itself stable once mounted on the string. You can definitely feel that heft during play, but it feels like the source of your power, rather than a burden to bear.

The weight serves a new purpose, as a means of relaxing you with its excellent stability that gives you a strong sense of exactly where the yo-yo sits in space. You could close your eyes and still be able to play by feel, making full use of the string. However, at this weight, you do need to be careful about where you direct the Collapsar, or the name will take on unfortunate new meaning!

So, it's a heavyweight yo-yo... designed for speedy play?? Yes, that unusual marriage is surprisingly solid; we haven't felt a concept like this before, perhaps the name really refers to how much space you can collapse between your hands and the yo-yo, and still perform marvelous tricks. How you use that new power, to blaze a new playstyle or just push your own, is up to you.
