Description
CLYW - Canvas
The yo-yo is your Canvas, to paint your own style and show your art to the world.
The Canvas is 2010 1A world champion (and former CLYW member) Jensen Kimmitt's signature model, which he collaborated with CLYW to design. The Canvas is an apt name for many reasons; each color variation has its own specially engraved artwork, a truly CLYW concept.
The Canvas itself has a very plain and simple rounded body, but when you look at the response area, you see a very distinct gentle trough carved out around the response pads. The body's sides have no axle protrusion, and are quite flat (in fact they are even slightly concave), which turns the side of these beautifully anodized yo-yos into a canvas for the various artwork that is sure to draw the eyes of many players and collectors.
CLYW yo-yos all have unique colors and names given to them. The blank versions of the Canvas are no exception. The pink/black splash is called "Pinkerton," gold/purple is "Golden Boy," but the ones with artwork are especially worthy of note. "The Oil" is the blue/orange splash version with a man's face drawn by CLYW member John-Bot, and called "Mr. Curmudgeon." Canadian artist, Smokey has designed "The Trapper," the mint-green version with the same design printed on both sides, which shows a face whether you look at the image rightside-up or upside-down. Another Canadian artist, Josh Holinaty designed the purple/pink and black/green designs, dubbed "Just a Bunch of Weirdos."
