Description
HSPIN - AntipodesAntipodes (handtested and tuned)
Four-time French Champion, Hadrien Bennaceur finally gets his first signature model, taking the reigns for the design himself!
This edition of the Antipodes is the "Handtested and Tuned" version of the "With a flaw to love and playable" Antipodes.
"With a flaw to love and playable" referred to the B-grade yo-yos that might have had minor imperfections in the anodizing, or roughness in the coating, or sharp interior edges that may wear at the string. This "Handtested and Tuned" version is the batch of yo-yos that survived Hadrien's scrutiny and tune-up.
Although anodization imperfections have been left alone, any flaws that may affect play have been removed. Imperfections have been shaved off or filled in, keeping the same glorious body shape (with very minor changes in the specs from one yo-yo to another). Furthermore, the flat bearing has been switched out for a curved one, putting the Antipodes much closer to A-Grade than B.
Hadrien Bennaceur has heralded the power of Hspin, winning the French Nationals four times as a member of Hspin's French team. Now he gets his own signature model, taking control over the design process himself, refusing to compromise on performance.
Antipodes is the name of an uninhabited archipelago in the south of New Zealand, but the real story behind the name comes from Hadrien's uncle, who completed a trans-atlantic voyage on a boat named the Antipodes, all by himself. In honor of his uncle, Hadrien chose his boat as inspiration for the name and the design on the yo-yo.
When using the Antipodes, you're sure to take notice of the wide rim and slim body weight; this yo-yo was made for speedy play. The slightly small body is great for chopsticks and other intricate tricks, clearly a conscious design decision from Hadrien, given his style of play. Similar to the Beysick, the Antipodes has a round shape you don't really see in yo-yos from other companies. Comes with a replacement axle, four replacement pads and a pair of socks (!). Unique serial numbers are printed on the side (cannot be chosen, sorry!). Some units may have minor scuffs due to the manufacturing process.
The response system is dug in a bit deeper than the regular Hspin models. The dimensions for the response system are: 12x16.5x2mm (IDxODxdepth).
