Description
Luftverk - Acadia Bimetal
Acadia carries on the bloodline of Luftverk's flagship model, Evora.
Luftverk was established to plunge the depths of titanium yo-yo design. Their original flagship was the Evora, which forms the base design of the new Acadia models.
The main design approach was to shave as much weight from the hub area around the axle, and to use a shorter axle to lighten this portion of the body as much as possible. The diameter was also increased by 2.5mm to 56.5mm. With the first throw you'll immediately feel the power-up!
This bimetal edition uses stainless steel outer rims to increase the stability of the Acadia. Of course, it also gives a longer sleep to support long combos. So although this yo-yo falls into the lightweight class, it delivers a mysteriously deep and stable sleep. This upgrade is a welcome addition that is sure to become Luftverk's new flagship model.
There's also a monometal version, designed for higher controllability.
*Because of the special nature of the coating on the titanium body, there may be some minor blemishes on it. These are a result of the manufacturing process, and do not affect playability.
Official Description
The Acadia is a performance oriented evolution of the original Evora released back in 2015. The original Evora proved to be an extremely popular yoyo but lacked the performance of a more serious competition style yoyo. When developing the Acadia, the performance was improved via weight distribution but with the constraints that it maintained the same design of the Evora.
the design process was mostly trimming as much material off the hub as possible. It meant a smaller hub area, much thinner wall thicknesses and smaller features. It uses a shorter axle, which meant the nipple could be shorter as well. The diameter was increased from 54mm to 56.5mm. This was mostly inspired by one of the best playing titanium yoyos I have ever owned, the Onedrop Citizen (which I still regret selling lol). This larger diameter meant so much more stability. It feels super comfortable doing speed combos and also helps with the feel in the hand. The final thing was adding all that weight back to the very edge, with the help of stainless steel rings.
Each yoyo will have a signed and numbered certificate.
