YoYoMaker - 3Deep
This yo-yo has a classic taste, and is inspired by the Deep State.
The Deep State, a "modern responsive" metal yo-yo with a classic shape was the inspiration for this 3D printed version.
This yo-yo has a "normal" shape similar to the old coca cola or hyper yo-yos, capable of some string tricks. Rather being designed to make tricks particularly easy, this yo-yo was made with a sense of nostalgia, to match the old classic yo-yos of years gone by.
Maker Comment:
The 3DEEP was made with respect for OneDrop's metal Deep State model. In fact, we love the Deep State so much that we got in touch with OneDrop and got permission to design our homage model to be compatible with their cool side effects.
This yo-yo is playable for both tug and bind response string tricks, and it can also be customized by applying side effects to it.
FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) is a production method where the plastic is heated and fed through a nozzle. We have created these with two different plastic colors to create a yin-yang design. We've been experimenting with incorporating even more colors using this technique, which is rarely attempted with 3D printing!
The other method we use is called DLP (Digital Light Processing), where liquid resin is exposed to UV light to harden it in layers. This creates a much higher resolution print and results in a slightly modified weight balance.
*These techniques both use support structures that need to be removed; this finishing process is completed by hand.
Warnings:
*FDM and DLP are both 3D Printing techniques, and there may be slight differences in weight from one yo-yo to the next. Color and material choice also can affect these variations.
*The final finishing processes are carried out by hand. They did their best, but there may be slight imperfections in the surface of the final product. Those who are bothered by this are recommended to purchase different models.
*DLP material is susceptible to UV light, and can turn yellow if exposed to direct sunlight or black lights. Please avoid too much exposure to UV light.
