A new possibility for off-string — the signature model of World 4A champion Koyo Hashimoto.

The Virga is the signature model of Koyo Hashimoto, World champion in the 4A division. It features a unique material combination of an A7075 aluminum body paired with large POM wings.

The feel differs from a full-plastic off-string yo-yo, but players can adapt to it immediately, without any sense of discomfort. In off-string play, where precise control is essential, the benefit of a yo-yo that responds crisply and honestly to every input is immeasurable.

The POM wings are highly durable and bounce cleanly when the yo-yo hits the floor during play, enabling quick recovery. The wings are bonded to the body using a special joining method that prevents them from separating during normal play. The Virga also features JT spacers, so return strength can be fine-tuned to your preference simply by swapping them out.

Starting with the shipment arriving in August 2026, the joint between the body and wings has been updated. This makes the wings less prone to shifting, and the shape has been refined so that even if they do shift, no gap will form. The depth of the pad groove has also been fine-tuned, and the weight has been adjusted as well, giving the Virga a more solid, honest feel in hand.

Born from the time and serious thought that Hashimoto and Japan Technology have invested in off-string play, the Virga stands as a new option among domestic off-string yo-yos.

Notes

• Impact from a drop may cause the wings to shift slightly out of place — this is a structural characteristic of the design, not a defect. If this happens, lay the yo-yo flat on a hard surface such as a floor or table and press straight down firmly with the palm of your hand to correct it.
• The spacers may become difficult to remove, or may not come off at all. This is typically caused by stress on the center of the yo-yo from drops, the spacer becoming compressed depending on how tightly the body is screwed together, or catching on scratches in the bearing lock. The 2nd lot design has been revised with this in mind, to reflect the feel Koyo Hashimoto envisions for the Virga. Please note that this tendency for spacers to be difficult to remove is a structural characteristic of the design.
• When assembling, always confirm that the spacers are properly installed before attaching the bearing — if the bearing is attached without the spacers in place, it may become impossible to remove.
