NSK Curved Bearing (Japan Made)

This curved bearing is the best you can buy in Japan!

The life of a yo-yo is measured in bearings. A long time ago, ball bearings were a secret weapon only found on top-end yo-yos, but nowadays over 99% of yo-yos made are outfitted with a ball bearing of some sort. And it's gotten to the point where ball bearings are designed and produced specifically for use with yo-yos.

Different shapes and sizes were developed to complement the different styles of play out there, but no style has seen greater advances than string tricks (1A). The most popular development in 1A bearings was the advent of the concave bearing, made popular by Dif-e-Yo's Konkave bearings. Nowadays it's not hard to find a yo-yo that comes with one of these high-end bearings standard.

These NSK bearings are the top of the line, even for Japanese bearings, designed for competition play. Machined to a tolerance of only 5/1000, there's no questioning the quality and precision of the NSK's handiwork. They're assembled under the watchful eye of master craftsman, in a completely dust-free clean room to ensure no foreign particles make it into the bearings. They employ special manufacturing processes to maximize the bearing's smoothness.

Our team of professionals have nothing but praise for this bearing, for practice and competitive play. It's definitely a bearing we'd like everyone to try at least once, we're sure you'll be hooked.

The golden version is gilded and has unheard of spin, with massive sleep times. The standard version is much closer to other high-end concave bearings.

*Over time, the gold plating will slowly wear off. This part is machined to high precision, so caution is needed to prevent a bearing lock from freezing it up. The bearing plays best right out of the box, bearing lube is not necessary (and the bearing is so precisely machined, there's no place for oil to enter the bearing.

Very very smooth, very low noise awesome bearing.

Very Good

I own all ceramic 10ball bearing, ceramic ball with steel housing bearing and many auldey high precision bearings.

These NSK Platnium grade bearings are the best I own.
Ceramic bearings don't come out of the box super smooth and is nearly impossible to warn in and make them smooth.

I own 1 gold NSK and 2 Platnium grade NSK. I had played with the gold NSK for quite a long preriod of time, with use of my custom lube it can free spin with hand for 42+Seconds. The gold platting still exist after a long period of play.

the diffrence I noticed between gold and platnium is mainly the precision, the platnium grade has less sidways movement than the gold nsk, meaning the platnium is higher in precison.

Amongst all bearings I own Platnium NSK is the most precison.

The platnium grade reuqires a longer break in period than gold NSK and Auldey super precision bearings.

Out of the box these Platnium NSK bearings can free spin for 25-28 seconds approximatly, I had washed and re lubed both bearings and found zero dust.

I do not recomend players to relube and wash the bearing unless they are confident that the bearing will spin longer after relube.

Great Bearing

This bearing came out of the box a bit rough.
But before I used it I gave it a wash.

I found only 1 dust particle during the wash which was quite a big one.

After washig the bearing to have zero dust inside and giving the bearing my custom mixed lube it became ultra smooth.

Precision of this bearing is great, but not super precision.

”The bearing plays best right out of the box, bearing lube is not necessary (and the bearing is so precisely machined, there's no place for oil to enter the bearing."

Metal bearings will always require lube, even with a super precise one, if theres zero lube then it will become rough and the balls and groves in the bearing may turn into metal poweder. Thus meaning the bearing will self destruct soon.

Lube will coat up the bearings moving parts and will make them smoother, it will go into any bearing including super precision bearings
