All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
Let fate decide your colorway; Mantis is onedrop's second blind-box full metal yo-yo.
Test your luck without risking anything. Mantis is the second release of onedrop's blind box series. They made a ton of different beautiful colorways, then mixed them all up so there's no telling which one you will receive.
It has a slim silhouette similar to the Marquis, the first of the series, but in truth its specs have completely changed from the Marquis, and the component material has been upgraded to 7075 aluminum. Also, if you're really lucky, you may strike gold with the all-titanium versions that are thrown into the mix. Onedrop increased production of the full titanium model for the Mantis, to increase your chances of a jackpot.
A little on the larger end of middle-sized, Mantis plays like a full sized yo-yo. The side faces are like the Kraken, with the center swelling ever so slightly. Compared to the Marquis, Mantis is a larger yo-yo, with an H-profile that feels heavy but very soft during play. That heavyweight feeling is thanks to the thick rims and clever weight distribution.
Because wide yo-yos have stolen the stage in recent years, it's unusual to see a high quality slim profile these days. This is perfect for players that want to feel their roots, and for new players that want to try something new with an old school flavor.
Only 600 total were manufactured. By the numbers, your odds from most likely to least is:
1. Single colored 2. Multi colored 3. Nickel-plated 4. Full titanium
The odds are up to your good fortune!
Official Description The Marquis was the first yo-yo Blind Box and it was awesome to see it so well received and that everyone had fun with the idea. So let's do it again! Time to crack boxes!
This time the run will 600 units called The Mantis, featuring a selection of solid colors, classic fades, nickel plating and titanium. They're sealed up just like the Marquis, so you won't have a clue what you're going to get until you rip open that box! We have increased the odds of getting a titanium over what it was with our first Blind Box (and increased the number of them from 5 to 10). We also increased the odds of getting a non-solid color overall.
Early civilizations believed the Mantis insect had supernatural powers. We 're not much believers in magic, but we do think that if you spend just the right amount of time with your Mantis, that hopefully, it'll make your yo-yoing be much more on point. The Mantis is machined out of 7075 aluminum (except for the Titanium version), and features an organic H shape profile. It's a deceptive little bugger once you get your hands all over it.
The Mantis is always going to be on the hunt for its next prey and there's only one person that's going to help it get there, YOU! Go find that bug net hiding back there, these Mantis aren't going to be lingering around for long!
*Titanium Mantis is redesigned to share the same specs and profile as it's counterpart. It features a more opened cup and takes our 19mm Flow Groove.
