All yo-yos have passed the manufacturer's quality inspection. Quality standards vary by manufacturer. Basically, products that can be used normally are within product specifications.
Examples of possible initial defects
if the following symptoms occur immediately after opening, they may be initial defects:
(Bind models only) The bearing barely rotates even when flicked with a finger.
Even after dampening vibrations with a finger during play, the yo-yo vibrates so much that its shape appears distorted.
Parts that should be installed (bearings, pads) are not installed.
Examples that do not constitute initial defects
Package damage
Color differences from expectations
Bearing noise or bind model return issues that occur after even a few plays
Yo-yos that arrived properly assembled but cannot be reassembled after disassembly
Scratches on the inside of the bearing area, paint chips
Color variations on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance
Paint chips that are not noticeable from a distance
Scratches on the yo-yo that are not noticeable from a distance and barely detectable by touch
Minor rust on bearing surfaces of models that come pre-strung in the package (minor external rust has almost no impact on performance)
A superb balance of power and responsiveness, in a tough package! YYF's Flight raises the bar for extreme cost-performance off string yo-yos.
Breaking years of silence on the off string front, YoYoFactory has released a new model that is worth the wait. A full plastic body (unlike the rubber-winged models in the past), Flight boasts a high attention to detail that is the result of extensive testing and minute tweaks, making it one of the best off string yo-yos for the price.
Aside from maintaining its spin, the balance of its responsiveness is one of the most important features of an off string yo-yo. You don't want the yo-yo to catch a bind until you're ready, but you still want a good, tight bind. Flight strikes a great balance here, and the bumped response area has both the effect of preventing sleep loss, and even when the yo-yo slows down, it still manages to maintain a straight, smooth spin. Built for durability, the plastic body also looks pretty darn good, and the low price means that off string newbies to contest players can afford to stock their fleet.
The parts of the body that come into contact with the string have a finish similar to the blast coatings on metal yo-yos, further reducing sleep loss.
*The marks on the side of the body are intended to line up to maintain balance and prevent wobbles, but if you overtighten the yo-yo it may damage the plastic body, so please be careful when opening and closing your yo-yo.
