This is the signature model of Ryo Yamashita, a competitor who has remained active in the looping scene for 22 years, claimed the 2011 National Championship, and earned a World Top 3 ranking. Every design decision in the Cannon Ball draws from Yamashita's decades of deep technical knowledge and hands-on research into looping yo-yo mechanics.

The defining feature of the Cannon Ball is its aggressive concentration of weight at the outer rim via the caps. Compared to C3's Seeker and the previously released Initiator, the Cannon Ball shifts significantly more mass to the caps, delivering the stable, sustained spin needed to power through Yamashita's high-speed, relentless loop sequences. Precision is equally uncompromised: metal nuts are embedded directly at the center of the body, maintaining tight balance throughout the frame.

The spacer design takes a separate-component approach, with a metal part locking the gap in place and a POM ring governing the looping feel. The metal component contacts the nuts embedded in the body, creating a firm lock on the gap width. The POM spacer, by contrast, is intentionally left free to shift during play. When centrifugal force is strong, on a throw or an outgoing loop, the POM moves to reduce friction, letting the yo-yo sleep more freely. When that force eases, it returns and creates friction against the string to support the return. These two opposing behaviors are built into a single spacer.

A string around T-24 thickness is recommended to match Yamashita's preference, rather than standard thin string. The Cannon Ball ships with C3 Pro String Normal (100% polyester).
