Description
Japan Technology - Aire
The Aire is the updated version of Japan Technology's flagship model, Kamui.
The Kamui is the yo-yo that helped usher in the off string revolution. And now, the evolution of that model is the fusion of many designs. Japan Technology has created an off string yo-yo that is even more easy to use than its predecessor. Aire is the cutting edge of off strong design, and is the signature model of six-time US off string champion, Bryan Figueroa.
From the Maker
The Aire is the signature model of Bryan Figueroa, a player famous for the long list of titles he holds. JT and Bryan took the Kamui (our first model) and remade it by combining the design elements of other JT yo-yos to improve the original design and make it even better.
Of course the Aire is a solid performer, and is sure to show up on the contest stage. But regardless of the floors you practice over, the Aire is designed to give you a steady, solid bounce to make recaptures quick and easy. This has been a design issue for many years now. When the wings are thin, we get a good high bounce on soft flooring like carpets, but thin wings mean less durable, so aggressive practice over hard floors would eventually damage the yo-yo. Also, thin wings can reduce spinning power which limits the tricks the player is capable of performing.
The AIRE was designed to overcome this limitation and greatly improve the recovery capabilities of the yo-yo. On soft flooring, the AIRE bounces high and draws a gentle curved orbit as the spin directs it back towards the player. On hard flooring, it still bounces high and steady, and barely budges from where it falls, giving you a sense of control as you retrieve it in mid-bounce.
In addition to this design feature, the succession (clear lineage down the JT line), evolution of those capabilities, and fusion of those concepts led to a whole new take on the yo-yo that made us famous. The AIRE represents another revolution in off string play!
